Airbus has announced the completion of its first test on the Flying Taxi, the Vahana project, announced earlier in 2016.
The taxi was able to fly automatically and rise for about 5 meters, for 53 seconds before returning to land again, through autopilot and without human intervention.
The Alpha One is designed to transport one passenger in the air to avoid traffic congestion through a self-driving system that the company is currently developing. The final result is a network of self-driving transport vehicles, similar to self-driving taxis that companies like Waimo are currently developing.
