What is the difference between http and www in web site addresses?

HTTP is a shortcut to HyperText Transfer Protocol, the most popular Internet protocol of our time. Http is a way to communicate between a web browser such as Chrome and the web server you are browsing (such as a programming site).

WWW is a shortcut to the World Wide Web. In the link you visit online, you mean that you are visiting a website like a programming site.

There are many protocols used on the Internet, and in order to differentiate between them, you must specify which protocol you want to use when you ask for something from the Internet server. Internet browsers allow many protocols, such as http, ftp, file, news. However, most web sites use the http protocol.

Good Internet Address
Take the URL of http://www.alcamel.info and we will explain all its parts.
Http is the protocol that will be used by the browser to fetch information from a site server, and www means that you are browsing a web site, alcamel is the name of the site. We still have info which is the highest level in domain names, and means that this site is commercial.
